We never imagined we’d be writing these words. Our beloved Mookie — a father, an husband ,artist and one of the kindest, most vibrant souls you could ever meet — lost his life to suicide after a long and silent battle with Schizoaffective Bipolar Disorder.
Mookie was more than his illness. He was joy. He was music. He was love. He was a father who adored his child, a son who gave his all, and a friend who never hesitated to lift others up. His heart was wide open — for his family, for strangers, for anyone who crossed his path. He loved God, spoke with purpose, and lived with a spirit that refused to be dimmed, even in the face of pain.
He came from deep struggle — Yet Mookie chose light, every single day. He poured his soul into his music, using it as a vessel to express truth and bring joy to others. Behind that bright smile, though, was a storm that never stopped.
